Workshop Overview
Effective teaching is both complex and essential. This workshop equips educators at every level—teachers, principals, and superintendents—with practical tools and strategies to strengthen their instructional practices and improve student achievement.
Discussion and learning will focus on the importance of a common language for talking about instruction and a framework for effective teaching using the New Art and Science of Teaching framework as an example, which provides teachers with research-based strategies they can use in their classrooms.

Melanie Lewis Magee
Melanie Lewis Magee served in education for 26 years at various levels starting as an elementary school teacher. After several roles in district administration, including adult and parent education, Dr. Magee moved into campus leadership. She was an assistant principal and later an associate principal at a high school culminating in four years as a middle school principal. Her passion is coaching administrators and helping teachers be the best versions of themselves for students.
Debbie Aholt
Debbie Aholt is a leadership coach in Meridian, Idaho. She has over 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, building administrator, and leadership coach. Debbie works with districts and schools to support systemic transformations that impact student and adult learning.
